Akshay Kumar on Bollywood downfall: It is our fault, My fault

Akshay Kumar was seen attending the trailer launch event of his upcoming thriller film, ‘Cuttputlli’. The film also stars Rakul Preet Singh, Sargun Mehta, and Chandrachur Singh in key roles. During the media interaction, Akshay spoke about the poor performance of the films in theatres. His recent release ‘Raksha Bandhan’ failed to impress the audience. The boycott trend and canceled culture in Bollywood led to poor box office performance.

While speaking to the media, Akshay addressed the issue and said that he wants to understand what the audience wants. He said, “Films are not working, it is our fault, my fault. I have to make changes, understand what the audience wants and there is nobody else to be blamed for it but me.”

Meanwhile, the trailer of ‘Cuttputlli’ is being loved by the audience on social media. They have been showering love on it. Director Ranjit Tewari went on to reveal that it was never called Mission Cinderella. He shared, “It’s inspired by Ratsasan. It was never called Mission Cinderella, it was always called Cuttpultli. We shot in Mussoorie and UK.”

On the work front, Akshay also has ‘Ram Setu with Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha, ‘OMG 2’ with Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi, and the remake of ‘Soorarai Pottru’.
